Historical Data for Delisted Stock

Postby Van » Tue Feb 14, 2012 4:32 pm

Anyone out there know how to find historical price data for a stock that was delisted in 2007?

The stock was Shell Canada Limited. It traded as SHC on the Toronto Exchange. I need to find the price on/about August 28, 2005.

Thanks.

You could try contacting Royal Dutch Shell since they are the ones who acquired it. Here's the page with Investor Relations contact information in the lower right hand corner.

You might check for an archived copy of WSJ, Barrons, or a Canadian paper for that date.

Thanks again. Being so helpful, you are shattering my image of a Steelers fan. Hard hat, beer in hand, work boots, grunting something unintelligible, unshaven etc. etc.

Depending on the time of day, you could well find me with a beer in hand. :sharebeer

But sometimes (shock!) it's a glass of wine. :D

Does your local library have access to bloomberg. They might have it.

Does the TSX (the Toronto Stock Exchange) not have a search feature? Also try calling them and asking if they can point you to historic prices.

From memory, Shell bought out the minority, so they would have posted documents (on SEDAR, the Canadian equivalent of the SEC EDGAR).

the (Toronto) Globe & Mail OR the National Post (Financial Post is its business subsection).

The Toronto Star is less likely to have it, but might.

Yahoo.ca stock prices?
