Emerging Markets Fund Recommendation?

Post by Call_Me_Op »

I have been asked to recommend a good emerging markets fund for my 403B at work. Any suggestions?

Did you not like any of the ones suggested at www.altruistfa.com/dfavanguard.htm ?

The above link is always the FIRST place to look if you need a fund in a specific asset class.

If I was going to buy a fund for myself it would have to be low cost and passively managed. This probably eliminates 99.9% of my potential choices.

Actually, I do not like any listed there. They are mainly ETF's, and I need a fund. Which do you like for a 403B?

Even though they recommend against it, I like DFEMX.

Eric Haas likes it better than VEIEX. :) Anyways, "recommend against" may be too strong an interpretation. He likes one other mutual fund fund more.

Vanguard Emerging Markets ...

Hello,

If you must have an emerging markets fund in your plan, than it is hard to beat VEIEX (or better yet, perhaps the Signal Shares version).

If you are aware of a better option, I'm all ears ...
