complete newbie, have no idea where to start

Post by direwolf10 »

hi everyone
I never really thought to get into this until I read a tech article over at the verge about investing and some people commented on Vanguard being a great start, but I have no idea where to start.
I am 22 and investing for retirement seems like it would be a good idea and I have no idea where to begin.
any help is greatly appreciated.

There is a great link on the forum home page in the upper left called "Start here". Do you see it? If so, click on it.

A recent book by one of the best of Boglehead advisors would be appropriate I think.

See William J Bernsteins' "If You Can".

Best of luck for a long and interesting future.

This.

Also, do you have earned income? A 401k? An IRA? If you said yes to any of these, take a look at the Asking Portfolio Questions thread and create your own.
