Which of These 3 Funds for Roth 401(k)?
Which of These 3 Funds for Roth 401(k)?
I am looking for an equity fund to make up my entire Roth 401(k). Only about $7-8k.
For equities outside my Roth 401(k), my portfolio consists of Vanguard Total Stock Market Admiral and Vanguard Total International Admiral. Which of these three Vanguard funds best compliment my current mix of equities?
My Roth 401(k) selection is pretty limited and these are the only funds available that have broad enough exposure for my liking:
1) Vanguard Inst Index Fund Inst (VINIX) 0.04%
2) Vanguard Russell 1000 Value Inst (VRVIX) 0.08%
3) Vanguard Wellington Fund Admiral (VWENX) 0.17%
4th fund) American Beacon Small Cap Value Fund Class ABSYX (1.01% I had previously overlooked this fun since it's not a Vanguard Fund.
Thanks for your time!
Note: Since I haven't yet reached $10k, VWENX may be off the table for another month or two which is fine, I will buy later if that's the fund I decide.

4th fund added! I overlooked it before since it's not a VG Fund.

VINIX, definitely

SInce you appear not to be a slice-and-dicer (overweighting value), I don't see the point in the Russell 1000 Value, nor in Wellington, which also has a value bias. The institutional index, with its rock-bottom expenses, fits your portfolio well.
If you wind up large-cap heavy because the 401(k) gets too large, you can add Extended Market Index in your IRA, or Tax-Managed Small-Cap in your taxable account; 80% of Institutional Index and 20% of either of these funds approximates the total stock market reasonably well.

No Bond Funds? Do you have a T-401k option with bond offerings?

Yes, I have more than my age in "fixed income".
@joe8d: I do not know if my employer has a T-401k option but I am not looking for bonds at the present time.
I haven't done my final assessment but I believe I will choose VINIX.
