Greetings,
Due to the sale of a home I have 200k in cash I need to do something with. I do not want to tie it up in anything long term as I want to have it available and not want to have to sell something low etc. So, other than a money market paying about zero, do any of you fine folks have an idea where to park some cash and make more than .05% ??
Thanks in advance.
Need idea on what to do with cash.

High Interest Checking with an Internet Bank might pay as much as 1.00% and be safe. You have to make sure you jump through all the hoops though.
A short term bond fund like VFSTX might pay 2-3% this year but a 0.25% rise in interest rates could hit you 0.5% in value.
No free lunch!

Ally Bank is at 0.84%, no minimums. There are other online banks with similar or higher rates. That's where I kept my down payment money before I bought my place.
