Reading returns on Google Finance

Postby icedtea » Mon Jan 14, 2013 4:02 pm

If you look up VBTLX on Google Finance, the 1-yr trailing returns on the right hand side are 3.77%. But if you adjust the graph to 1 year, you see much less % growth in the graph itself. What accounts for the difference between the rate of change in the graph and the trailing returns on the right?

The chart is price only, not including distributions.
