Re: Boeing (BA) stock: at some point it has to be a bargain
The background of the person, Stephanie Pope, just put in charge of the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) division speaks volume on the focus and what is important for the division. Her background is a bachelor's degree in accounting from Southwest Missouri State University (source https://www.boeing.com/company/bios/stephanie-pope). She is generally a niceish person, but woefully, woefully out of her depth when it comes to wrangling BCA's issues to resolution. Ask me how I know... (Hey, did I mention that I just recently "fired my employer" a month ago? A very large American aircraft manufacturer.) And yes, I'm astounded that they put a pure finance person in there. I suspect your (successful) financial position speaks volumes a...

A generic marinara sauce is mind-blowingly simple and inexpensive to make, freezes well and can be morphed into a lot of different applications.

Hi, my tax return was rejected, with rejection code R0000-058-01 - An XML document that represents a binary attachment must have a valid reference to an attached file. I have been using TurboTax for years, but this year is the last one. According to them “ The development team has given us an update with regard to customers who are receiving the Reject Code R0000-058-01 when trying to electronically file your return. The resolution to this situation is taking longer than expected and it may not be resolved before the tax filing deadline.” Their solution is “ If you are required to include Form 7206 as a part of your tax return based on the information above, then you need to print and mail your return. Electronic filing will not be an opti...

Many of them are stuffed with additives, salt and sugar so may be indistinguishable. I know when I cut most of the sugar out of my diet my ability to taste skyrocketed; consequentially I could taste the excess of salt and chopped it way back as well.gunny2 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 2:16 pm I might not the connoisseur you or others might be, so probably pointless as I haven't tried most of the pricier brands. I suppose someone could figure it out. I use my checking account as a transaction clearing account with low balance. Everything going in and out of the system (except DAF asset donations) goes through that account. There is no cost to hold the account. I live in a rural area and some payees will only accept a check. Not many but a few.TheTimeLord wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 1:28 pmNot sure I understand how a savings account replaces a checking account, maybe a money market account could for most things.

Right now we have pour over trusts which were set up unfunded two decades ago. We will be revisiting this in the coming months.
In the meantime, our investments and policy are quite simple; over the last 15 years we have taken steps to simplify the holdings as well as the strategy. More work to do as tax-effective opportunities arise.

If you are paper filing print out the version they recommend for paper filing. I really doubt that the clerk that retypes your return will do anything with the mini-worksheets and various supporting pages that aren't part of an official return.

Yes, of course it's possible, but you seem inclined to believe it's so, whereas I'm inclined not to. A cow raised in a better environment producing better beef doesn't necessarily mean its milk will follow suit; again, two different substances entirely. Note I'm not saying any of this definitively...and really, whether a "better" cow's milk is better is subjective anyway, at least in terms of taste. "you seem inclined to believe it's so" -- maybe, but that is beside my point. I'm not arguing that it's true, but that it's plausible on its face, and therefore requires fairly strong evidence to refute with any confidence. As another analogy, I personally don't have a discerning palate for wine. It seems plausible to me tha...

You are thinking about this backwards (for a couple of reasons).
One, ETFs and MFs are essentially passthrough entities; they pay out what they receive from the securities they hold. They don't "cut" or "increase" anything.
Two, you have a framing problem. They produced (finally?) a crappy forecast. The question you might ask is why did they issue a bad forecast? I have no idea because I pay no attention to any forecast except today's weather.

the numbers can be calculated. Whether they can be deducted should be outlined in the instructions for your state return and/or the tax code for your state. In Maryland, we can reduce our AGI. In H&R Block software I can enter the amount when I prepare the Federal return and it will carry over to the state return (the IRS cares not) or I can jam it in as a subtraction in the state module.

We have three. 99% of charges on one. Each of us carries that one plus one other that is different from the other spouse. That way if lost or stolen wallet we can cancel two cards and still have one that works. However, I can now lock all three using my phone so I'm tempted to keep the two seldom used and the ATM locked until needed.
