I have the Kindle Keyboard and have been pleased with it. I recommended the non-keyboard basic model to my wife and a friend and that has worked well for them. I would not pay extra for a 3G model. I use http://www.maxemail.com/. Does voicemail also. Can be controlled via email messages or with a web interface.

Receiving faxes is free. Sending is something like 5 cents a page, maybe less for larger documents.

I am also very happy with my Brother laser printer. Very solidly built.

It is an HL-1440. Several years old and probably superceded by some other model now.

I use this with Linux by the way. No problems.
