Wow, this got a bit more spotlight than I was expecting. I'll clarify some questions raised throughout the discussion. Thank you to everyone for putting in their own two cents, many a valid point has been raised. 1. For those concerned about me entering nursing with no experience, I spent time volunteering at an ER for 6 months before landing a job as a ER scribe for over a year. Thank you for all the feedback. I figured I'd add a few points for feedback. 1. I am currently working in the service industry (aka coffee shop) and am on track to bring in 30k this year with two jobs at 50-70 hour weeks (rarely overtime with splitting time between the two). It wasn't hard to get in but I want to get outta dodge if you know what I mean. 2. I have researched what's needed in my area and all recommendations from people I have talked to indicate getting a full BSN, which this program offers. 3. I am young at only 24 but I am fully confident in my academic capabilities to get through this program. I am not trying to boast but I have maintained a 4.0 by hitting the books regularly each week with hard work, not genius abilities. ...

Greetings, I am wanting some outside financial perspective prior to entering an accelerated nursing program (Full BSN, not an Associates) that I will be entering in March 2015. I have recently finished reading the bogleheads book and it mentions several times that an educational debt can actually be beneficial if it increases the amount of money you would be making afterwards.
