One of my friends also recommended Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs and Pike's Peak in Manitou Spring (she recommended taking the cog rail to 14,100 ft). Windows XP: Security updates for Windows XP are still available until April 8, 2014 for everyone -- paying for extended support is only needed if you want stuff beyond security updates. Replacing a hard drive should not be a big deal - or expensive. Why not just reload your XP and keep shooting for your seven years, or more? I'm at ten years and the second or third hard drive on my Gateway desktop. XP is so robust that Microsoft is wishing they hadn't done such a good job with it....

Hi VT, My only concern from what you listed is scanning... you mentioned that a system you were considering doesn't have a serial or parallel port.
