Re: Avast loaded malwhere with updated "protection".

Problem solved! Bought a new Lenovo w/MS 8.1 and touch screen. I then hand transferred bookmarks to the new computer. Made hard copies of any files I thought necessary. I'm sure that I've missed some items that i'll want in the future, however did not want to take a chance on transferring corrupted ...

Avast loaded malwhere with updated "protection".

Avast asked for permission to up date protection. By clicking on OK we received PC-Tech, Friends Checker, Dibzees, Software Watcher, and several other intrusive pop-up programs. Have tried the computers system restore, running virus scans, applying the PC-Cleaner program and several other "solu...

Re: Cash in Your Wallet

Usually a couple of twenties, and a few ones in a money clip with credit cards. For many years have also carried $500 in a money belt. Probably a carry over from many years of business travel. Pay almost all charges with a rebate credit card. Have never had a balance carry over from month to month. ...

Re: Home Siding

Had the product on our house about 30 years ago. At that time we had nothing but trouble with it. It flaked off like a d-lamination, especially anywhere that was subject to moisture. Would not have it again under any circumstances. Have seen many houses that have had the same problem. Steel siding i...

Re: Dishwasher not draining

Had the same drain problem. The tub would get full during the cycle and the unit would shut down. Pulled the washer out to get at the pump and hose. Decided that I did not want to tackle a tear down, since I would have no parts to repair the unit. Called a repair shop. He came out and attached a wet...

Re: Happy Birthday Marines

Short story: Had a great cake made with our logo on the front. Brought it to work and called up the several other Marines in the company (work) for cake, coffee, and a short celebration. While showing it to the guys, it slipped and fell upside down on the floor. End of celebration! At least no one s...

Property taken by eminent domain process

Have a 40 acre farm (tree and wild-life) and a five unit development platted at around 20+ acres each. The MN power company X-cel/Cap-X has been granted the authority for a high voltage 345kV route. It traverses the length of the farm, roughly in the middle of the property. These poles are gigantic,...

I find the local (Minnesota) VA center better than my previous private practice group. If I could spend ten minutes with my previous doctor, I felt lucky. Have had two different doctors as my VA assigned physicians, and both were excellent. They claim that they only average 12-13 patients a day, and...

How about charities and political pleas for money?

Helping my 90 year old mother update her check book I notice she had given over $350 (she lives on $770 a month Social Security) to an Society for the Preservation of Social Security. She had been writing them checks every month and sometimes every other week for at least 6 months. They kept sending...

How abour a Sequoia instead?

Bring on your low slung, high mpg sedans. You would not even make it off the main roads in a Minnesota winter, let alone my 3/4 mile driveway. I'll hook up my Sequoia and tow you back to town. if you try!! We replaced our our full sized van and 3/4 ton pickup with the Sequoia. We average around 17.5...

Had one in the late '60s-early '70s. Pop up top, stove, in-door shelving bed, potty stool with plastic "bowl". Air cooled, rear engine, maybe 40-42hp. Went all over the states, Washington State, California, Minnesota, Florida, back to Seattle. Toured for much of the summer, after graduate ...

Have X-M radio on both TV via Dish, and X-M in the car. No commercials on either. Selection of programs offered is slightly different on both. Car X-M is great when traveling. No fade out, or station or music type searches. We listen to mostly the 40s style, big band music. This month those stations...

Sorry that the link didn't work. Gd provided a link as a starting point for the associations. You should be able to Google Subaru or the VIP program for an up-to-date listing. I went through all of the iterations and test drove all of the units, but did not buy from Subaru. Bought a Toyota Sequoia i...

Call Vanguard create an account, then have them transferred "in-kind". You will then have the Admiral shares.

As others have stated, do not sell, or you will create a taxable event!

Now have a Town and Country AWD and love the traction. Get between 18-22 mpg. Unfortunately it now has 122K and AWD vans are no longer made by Chrysler. Stow and go put the kibosh on that option. Mini-vans fit our profile as a trip-mobile, except for their low towing capacity. Looked at the Odyssey ...

What is the purpose of the above names? Who determines this status and don't you think that this type of classification is disrespectful to the poster?
