401K help

Hi everyone, I'm a partner in a company and I've come to realize that our 401K plan managed by Morgan Stanley doesn't have any low cost index or bond funds. I've asked MS for cheaper funds, but they have told me what we have is as good as it gets. So, I'm in the predicament of: A. Do I let MS go B. ...

Re: Emerging Markets

Hi guys,

OK, I've spoken to our 401K guy and he said I have the following options for bonds if I want them:
EVGOX ER 1.14%
IPFIX ER 0.96%

Either of these a contender do you think?

Cheers,

Thanks for the advice. [quote="ramsfan"] All good advice above. your first step is to check to see what (if any) cap gains or losses you may have with the bond fund in your taxable account. I agree with mhc that they will likely not be significant, but you should check.[quote="ramsfan...

Madoff [is money safe with Vanguard?]

Hi there,

I've just been reading about Madoff...

This may be a dumb question, but how can we be sure that our money is safe with any fund manager? If we have our money with Vanguard index funds how do we know for sure that its actually invested in the market?

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I have about the $80KUSD in GBP and I'm wondering if I should bring it over to the States?

I'm just concerned if I do it now the GBP may suddenly appreciate...and I'm worried if I don't do it it may suddenly depreciate.

Any ideas what I should do?
