Question about 401k contribution at end of year

I have a 401k contribution withheld from a paycheck paid on 12/31/2013, but the deposit did not arrive in my retirement account until 1/3/2014. Does this amount count towards my contribution limit for 2013 or 2014?

Thanks!

So,...

Re: First time picking 401k funds

Thanks for all your responses! It seems like I am on the right track as far as making do with what is available in the 401k. I will continue to contribute to it and continue to push for some better fund choices. As a pretty junior employee there's a limit to how noisy I'm willing to be by myself, bu...
