But to avoid the hassle of returning I bought it from local bed bath and beyond and had to pay $18 towards taxes. Now I am ...

Re: parental control software suggestion

Thanks for the replies. My daughter is 9 years old. And very young boy, I'm not worried about him yet. I do not think she would deliberately look for it at this age. I'm trying to avoid accidental display. What age is appropriate to talk to the kids about the subject? Any good books or websites sugg...

Hi, I own the following devices. Kids use all of them once in a while. I'm looking for setting up parental controls on all the devices so that kids accidentally do not come across inappropriate content. As of I know there is no one common solution that covers all the devices. Could you please let me...

Re: Appliances Dilemma - Replace just the broken or Replace

How about this: Get the stainless dishwasher, and cover it with a magnetic panel to match the rest of your appliances, and replace the others as they break. http://www.applianceart.com/White_Custo ... 0004-7.htm Note that you need to test the dishwasher with a magnet to ensure it will stick to it, ...

Re: Appliances Dilemma - Replace just the broken or Replace

It sounds like you really want the new appliance though. The only dishwasher brand I've ever heard recommended without hesitation is Bosch. I would not do the whole kitchen at once just to get stainless. Make the needful replacement, then do some research about what you need/want/can afford and lay...

Re: digital camera buying advice

Just wanted to say big THANK YOU for suggesting D5100 for the following bogle heads and all others who spent time in writing to suggest me. I never wanted to go for a DSLR because of its bulkiness, but after buying D5100 and seeing the quality of the pictures I'm really amazed. I thought I'll be alw...

Re: Roomba vacuums

I owned Roomba carpet cleaner in sometime 2008 for 3,4 months before returning at Costco. I do not remember the model number. I felt cleaning was a big pain and replacement parts are too expensive that time. Now I own a house with hardwood floor in the main level, basement and carpet in the 2nd floo...

Re: Best websites like Bogleheads

For all of the above,,,,,,Bogleheads site

But I see people posting only the financials related to some of the above topics but I don't see any non-financial discussions. I do believe people use separate websites for each of the above topics.

I have found this website only recently and it is invaluable to me. I feel If I had found this site 5,10 years ago I would have been in a much better position financially now. digital camera buying advice

I'm a beginner in photography. So far I've been using canon point and shoot cameras. Thinking of buying a better camera to shoot my 9 and 3 year old children. My main complaints about the point and shoots have been their zoom restriction, slowness and quality. I'm looking at compact system cameras d...
