Re: Another Smartphone/Verizon Question

The Verizon Iphone 5 and newer have a SIM card slot and are unlocked due to a settlement by Verizon. Buying used you would want to make sure they can be activated on Verizon. Straight Talk's Iphone 5 is on Verizon. If you buy the Straight Talk Verizon Iphone 5 and newer (from their website, Walmart,...

Re: Trust for disable grandson

Many states have attorneys that specialize in special needs trusts for those with developmental disabilities. They can help minimize the chance that disability or medicaid benefits are jeopardized, or forced into "spend-down" before benefits are resumed. This can be especially important as...

Re: Buying a home with aluminum wiring?

Second, my relative who has been an electrician for over 25 years told me about an experience where he saw aluminum wiring glow red hot inside of an electrical box while the outlet had an electric heater plugged into it. Yes, that is a special concern with aluminum wiring. My parents have had a hou...

Re: Fostering Change in HOA

Also, since getting rid of the cable is a change in the status quo, those who enjoy the cable will not want change as their rates will go up. Satellite will not be an alternative for some, because there is nowhere to put an antenna that faces correctly to pick up the satellite. They may want access ...

Re: Online property tax payment lost

I pay property taxes to my town. For an unknown reason, they appear to strongly dislike online bank payments and make sure that those of us who pay directly (as opposed to the tax coming from the mortgage escrow account) are aware of that. After reading the town's disclaimer, I found it easiest to ...

[quote="Saving$"]1. When dealing with governments, I find they must literally go by the letter of the law, so these issues are generally not negotiable. I would find out if your county goes by postmark, or if they go by actual date of receipt of check. - if by postmark, you have a strong c...

Re: Who sells fresh coffee that is not as strong as Starbuck

I agree that good Robusta can be an important part of some very good coffees. Also, people who grow up in countries where Robusta is the normal coffee develop a real craving for some of the flavor notes in it. The #1 seller on Amazon is a coffee that contains a minority of Robusta and is a great exa...

Re: Who sells fresh coffee that is not as strong as Starbuck

There are basically two types of coffee beans... arabica and robusta. Robusta has very high caffeine content, arabica does not. Arabica also tends to have much better flavor. Most of the time you see some blend of the two, but Starbucks is near 100% robusta. Typically in the U.S., people go nuts ov...

I would test drive the manual on any car you are interested in, as the power response is often quite different, in a positive way for the manual. I would look at the Scion tC as well. Re: Can I get a Mortgage anywhere?

Went there for a year in the 1980's. Beautiful campus right on the ocean. Good transportation links to downtown and elsewhere, so no need for car. Great city with lots to do. Re: Nexus 4

There has been some talk that Straight Talk is not even replacing the E71 sims at this moment. This is not verified, and could be problematic, as those phones without the sim card might be a brick. The Net 10 option might be best for you. It has the micro SIM and the same ATT coverage you used before.
