If you need a notary, there are public or mobile notaries that will generally notarize documents for $10-$50 in most states. Also, such places as UPS stores and Immigration Photo shops will notarize for a fee.

As to the Sallie Mae card and Amazon, non-tangible purchases generally do not get the 5 points. This includes Kindle purchases, online video, etc. They are sold by a different Amazon subsidiary that is not classified as a bookstore.

They may be reacting to the 5% on gas Sams Club Mastercard. It gets 5% back on gas everywhere but Costco and BJs. Of course, an advantage to the USAA Amex is that you might be able to get 5% back at the two warehouse clubs on gas.

In my area, the 2001-2003 Mazda Proteges are around or just below $3000, partially because the next generation was called the Mazda 3. The 2005-2006 Scion Xb has stability control and is in the $3500-4500 price range.
