oil companies more risky

oil imports fell in may in china and are flat the last 5 months. so I think the oil price is vulnerable to a sharp drop and it's a bit dangerous to invest in oil companies and oil related investments. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/platts-report-china-oil-demand-fell-07-in-may-versus-a-year-ago-20...

about technical analysis, sp[Tech Analysis of S&P 500 index]

I want the opinion of the 1% that like ta.
There's a resistence at aprox. 1851 in the standart poor index. Now that the index is slighty higher (1854) what do you expect? Is there a good chance that the sp will go higher?

Re: Question on interest rates and p/e

only one answer for this post, but an answer with value.
it seems it was a time when posters that had nothing to write, prefered not to write, different from nowadays.
if someone has any consideration, calculation about that comparison nowadays, please post here.

Re: Art Cashin

[OT comments removed by admin LadyGeek]
i don't consider art cashin's opinion as financial porn.
i begin this thread to get opinions about the subject, about the resistence from 1848 to 1851, reasons for agreement, reason for desagreement, etc.

Art Cashin

Art Cashin said the benchmark sp index is approaching a key technical level that could spard either big gains or big losses.
He sees a significant band of resistence around 1848 to 1851.

it seems that one thread was locked because some guys posted bashing posts. I think it would be better if the bashing posts were deleted and not the thread locked.
otherwise, i think it is too frequently that threads are considered off topic.

SP500: a good upside?

In March,24 of 2000 the sp500 high was at 1552.87 points.
The inflation since then is estimated in 31.4%.
So if we corrected this value due inflation we obtain 2040 points.
That's probably the real all time high.
Considering it's now aroud 1626, there's a good upside.
