You will need to get a specific diagnosis and recommendation for treatment before any insurance company will consider offering coverage. They will probably want to see at least 6 months of treatment and follow-up if the...

I need an explanation of ownership of Vanguard Group

I don't quite understand Vanguard's client owned structure. I read this page but I'm still not sure how it is setup:
https://about.vanguard.com/what-sets-va ... p-matters/

Does every fund own some percentage of Vanguard? How are Vanguard's profits returned to the fund?

Re: Just helped my mom buy VTTVX [Target Retirement 2025]

Yes I chose it because of her retirement date. I'll have her take the questionaire and move her to a target fund with a closer date if that makes her more comfortable. Edit: She just took the questionaire and it recommended an allocation of 50% bond and 50% stock. The target fund that is closest to ...

I just helped her transfer the entire account over to Vanguard and bought VTTVX. She is very risk averse and doesn't want to see the value of her account go down. I ex...

Re: Traditional IRA to Roth IRA Conversion tax question

Very helpful thanks grabiner!

If I do a conversion, it doesn't count towards my 2013 IRA contributions, right? I already contributed $5500 to my Roth for 2013.

Re: Traditional IRA to Roth IRA Conversion tax question

Hi all,

I will not hit the next bracket. My salary is around $70K and my IRA account is around $5K.

I'm going to put my numbers into turbo tax to see how much I will be paying.

I don't know anything about investing the EU but I know other members on this forum could help you. Does the Netherlands have similar investment vehicles as Traditional or Roth IRAs in the USA?

Re: Please evaluate my current portfolio.

most of us do not hold cash for this purpose, so it appears that what you thought of as a stable investment i thought of as money which you simply hadn't yet added to a different investment bucket. if your question is whether a 72/28 stocks/fixed income ratio is appropriate, i'd say yes. Thanks. My...
