Re: If you were making a PF presentation for young professio

Give lots of tables/charts showing the "magic of compound interest". Use those 2 Einstein quotes on compound interest too. Also, give that example of getting started early (e.g. at 25 and contributing $2,000 for 10 years) vs. getting started later (e.g. at 35 and contributing $2,000 for 30...

FYI, in the recent NCAA Division 1 championship, 14 runners broke 14:00 for the 5K. There are ten high school runners in the country who are under 15 minutes, and many more college runners. Re: Training for a 5K

Don't bump your weekly mileage by more than 10% or so at a time. Doing so can potentially lead to injury if your body's endurance isn't prepared for added distance. For example: Week 1 - 12 miles (3 days x 2 miles, 2 days x 3 miles) If you felt good (wasn't too hard or too easy), then you can bump u...

Re: College costs, anyone else spit coffee on their monitor?

Hard to believe the tuition for my freshman year of college cost $5,000...in 2006. My dorm cost more than my tuition! This was at an in-state school (in the top 3 for my state). It's gone up the maximum amount (6-7% per year) every year since then. Compound interest in action!
