My basic understanding of company provided life insurance is to avoid it, you can't take it with you if you leave said company. If you have to start a new term you will now be older and have higher rates. I see mention of a conversion which has the same issue, older, higher cost.

I use mint.com for a global overview of all accounts. I look at it on a weekly basis. I look at performance willy nilly. Mint.com also has some text notifiers that can give you an update if certain balances are reached or transactions over a certain amount.

I sell laptops only on Craigslist, you lose too much money via eBay due to eBay and PayPal fees. I probably replace my laptop every 1.5-2 years and sell the old one on Craigslist.
