I dislike people that don't reflect back and look at the facts... But they are paying the bills of the guys that maintain our low cost index funds, so its ok :)

Re: POLL: Miss The 4-5 Years?

Did not answer the poll since I graduated on 2010 and started working and saving until then. I have a q for everyone that TLH'd during the lows... did you sell equities during the lows, and re-bought them 30 days later so you could have crazy amounts of loss and basically pay 0 tax for a while? Or w...

First investments - rebalancing, bonds, house down payment

Hey folks I started saving and investing since I got my first job out of college 2 years and a half ago. I'm following a 3-fund portfolio with Fidelity. I have three questions, in order of complexity :happy : 1) I never re-balance at the end of every year, since every time I've saved some money I po...

Re: Whart smartphone should I get?

I'm very happy with my Nokia Lumia 920 (Windows Phone). It has a different feeling that I like on the OS and I think it's very easy to use for first-timers on the new touchy Smartphone world. If you didn't like Windows Phone, I think the iPhone is friendlier and easier to use than Androids. But if y...

Re: Free Turbotax Premier Online for Fidelity users

It worked for me on IE, but had to click twice (a security prompt showed up and had to choose "Show all non secure content" in the first click). Probably the same issue on chrome.

Thanks for the link! Upgraded from 1 lower version :)

Re: TIRA->ROTH conversion year N+1 when do I pay taxes on ga

The total gain was $148, with $74 staying on ROTH. I do not need to pay taxes on that half of it though, correct? TurboTax has a "Reason", but it seemed more optional than not. Since this is my first time using semi-Backdoor ROTH, I wasn't sure what to write. It's limited to 80 characters,...

TIRA->ROTH conversion year N+1 when do I pay taxes on gains?

Hi folks - started reading this forum (and investing) 2 years ago and finally decided to post something since I couldn't find the answer by searching.
