Re: Do the Bogleheads here tithe based on net or gross salar

My wife and I tithe based on our gross and have not regretted the decision. The tithe (plus a little extra) goes to our local place of worship. Beyond the tithe, we give to other organizations so at the end of the year our charity giving is on the order of over 15%. It's exhilarating to give, especi...

Re: Correct price for real estate sale?

Does that mean the house appraised for more than we asked? I can't tell if house was mis-priced or not. After all, it took 8 months to receive an offer. Or does this mean realtor wasn't marketing the house properly? No, the amount the buyer was pre-approved for does not have anything to do the with ...

Re: Should I sell my condo or rent it out?

Sell it.

Anyways for those interested I was able to get a 5.75% rate through Wells Fargo, variable. Once I graduate the rate drops .25% and if I setup automatic payments another .2...

Suggestion for Rental Property Flooring

Need your opinion on ideal flooring (Kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms) for a rental property between Ceramic Tiles and Sheet Vinyl. Pros vs. Cons; Long-term vs. Short-term.

Any and all ideas are welcome.

Re: Short Sale - advice needed

IMO, 200k is rather on the higher end. If the short sale is listed for 175k, then an offer of 175k should be competitive. Matter of fact, you are being magnanimous to even offer that. I don't care how desirable the neighborhood is, it is the smallest house around. Price per SF matters! Given OP's si...
