VBTLX = Vanguard Total Bond Market Index Adm not the international.

I guess my question simply is this, "is it wrong to place this fund in a tax deferred account if I have the space for it"? I would prefer just to use the TFP and not a Target retirement fund. thank you

I read the article. I presently have all my Emergency fund in tax advantaged accounts and thought that if I needed my money quickly, then it would be more liquid in a taxable account that I could open up.

Ok, but irregardless of the specific vehicle (cash,cd,ETF), so the idea is that the Emergency fund should be in a Taxable account for liquidity instead of in a tax deferred account?

So, let me get this straight then. It would be more prudent to keep all emergency funds in a taxable or Roth account simply due to the fact that I am under 59.5 and would have to pay penalties upon withdrawal from a tax advantaged account?
