Business School Loans

So I am trying to help my youngest sister navigate getting loans for business school. Unlike the rest of us (I am one of 6, 3 of whom have already gone to grad school) she neither is receiving scholarship money for grad school nor has worked and saved money before going back to school, so this is a ...

Timing of 403b-->Roth conversion

Hello everyone! The last time I left my employer I had about 24k in a 403b. Upon leaving I transferred that to a Vanguard IRA and then over 3 years distributed 8k each year into my Roth (paying tax since I am in a low tax bracket). Now I am leaving my current employer at the end of this week. I have...

The type of creative, outside the box, entrepreneurship investments suggested for you fall in the category of extremely high risk/extremely high reward. It is overwhelming likely that if you regularly invest in and hold TSM for 40 years you'll make a great deal of money. The same cannot be said for...

Timing of converting Rollover IRA to Roth IRA

Quick question for the brilliant minds here:

If I converted a rollover IRA (originally from a prior employer 403b) into a Roth IRA after January 1st of this year, may I count this on my 2013 taxes or am I now obliged to tack this on to my future taxes for 2014?

Thank you!

Are there outdoorsy things to do near Philly? For good hiking you have to go up to Rickett's Glen/Endless Mountains. Most of the other hiking isn't so great. Very gratifying, I looked through my Excel spreadsheet records and I have saved 48k in investments in the past year and made a return of 12k (25%!) through dividends, appreciation, and the upturn in the stock market. That's a huge chunk of my salary right there.

I just paid to have a repair shop fix it, done in under an hour, 95 bucks plus another 50 for an otterbox case well worth it. Having a non-cracked screen was worth the money to me and this phone could last me another year or two if all goes well.
