Re: Fix Car or get short term rental/lease

It's a leaking radiator that needs repair...about 500 bucks to repair. Think I'm going to fix it, other options for 2.5 months don't make much sense.

Timing of converting Rollover IRA to Roth IRA

Quick question for the brilliant minds here:

If I converted a rollover IRA (originally from a prior employer 403b) into a Roth IRA after January 1st of this year, may I count this on my 2013 taxes or am I now obliged to tack this on to my future taxes for 2014?

Thank you!

So an update now that I am closer to decision-making time: My first choice as of right now is Philly, due to the strength of the program and the experience I had in Center City. Not knowing you, its rather difficult. New York is the height of culture and sophistication, not to mention global opportunities. Re: NYC, Philly, Boston, or Chicago?

Are there outdoorsy things to do near Philly? For good hiking you have to go up to Rickett's Glen/Endless Mountains. Most of the other hiking isn't so great. PA is known as Rocksylvania on the Appalachian Trail and with good reason. However, there's one gem in the city, which is Wissohickon Park. I...

I can, of course, only share my own experience. I'm leaning Philly for now based on stronger training and the fact it seems like it also has many of the things NYC offers. Boston and Chicago are lagging but obviously would be happy in those places as well.

Yes it did!

Very gratifying, I looked through my Excel spreadsheet records and I have saved 48k in investments in the past year and made a return of 12k (25%!) through dividends, appreciation, and the upturn in the stock market. That's a huge chunk of my salary right there.

Same thing just happened to my iPhone.

I just paid to have a repair shop fix it, done in under an hour, 95 bucks plus another 50 for an otterbox case well worth it. Having a non-cracked screen was worth the money to me and this phone could last me another year or two if all goes well.
