I've gotten my 1099-R statement for my RMD but it doesn't show that I did a distribution through Vanguard for QCD purposes. How can I prove it?

I made a QCD deduction to reduce our AGI. My spouse had charitable deductions as well. Since this is the first time we are filing a joint tax form can we place her charitable deductions under itemized deductions?

I've used Turbo Tax but haven't filed papers with IRS. What essential docs are needed to satisfy the IRS? When filing do I make the choice on what docs to send or is it automatically done by TT?

It worked for me too. I tried IE with no success. I got in right away with Chrome. 01/26/2015

I downloaded TT and just finished my taxes.

It's an error with turbo tax server. I've been trying since early this morning. IE never worked for me but Chrome did a few days ago. Hope TT gets the kinks worked out.

Here's what worked for me. My IE browser didn't work at all even when I removed my security protections. This morning I used Goggle's Chrome browser and didn't have any trouble at all. I'm still having trouble. I click on TT and a page comes up with "Our Apologies". I'm totally disappointed in Vanguard and how this connection to TT has been set up. It's horrible.

I followed the advice from other people who posted on this subject but nothing is working for me.

Vanguard might be wrong about TT being active. We still have the senate to vote on extending some taxes such as QCD qualified charity deductions. That's probably the reason I can't get any further into TT since they're waiting for the revisions they have to make before releasing it to the public.

According to Vanguard TT is active. Both federal and state TT is free for flagship clients. I've had trouble in the past trying to take advantage of TT from Vanguard. I've yet to get it to work for me.

I sign in through Vanguard. I sign in with Turbo Tax and select Deluxe Turbo Tax which should be free to flagship clients only to be told it will cost me $29. If I select that will I be billed? Anyone else have trouble getting TT?

The gift item is the tasting bottles to determine your likes. You contact the wine club and they will send 6 bottles that represent your taste. That's it for me as a gift. It will be up to the receiver if they want to continue or cancel. You can cancel at anytime.

Amica has the highest rating of all insurance companies but they don't offer insurance in all states. I live in MO and would've gone with them in a heartbeat but it wasn't available for MO residents.

I was single and tried to keep my non-cash charitable deductions at $500 or less. Above the $500 the IRS wants you to go through hoops. I got married this year and will file MFJ. Can I deduct $1000 for both of us before the IRS requires more info?

I have auto deduct and yes this is a refund check because of the auto deduct. I don't want to mess with the refund check every month. I want SS to take the Medicare payment out of my check prior to depositing it into my account.

All makes sense. Vanguard sends a check to me payable to my charity. I can then send in the proper paperwork for the charity.

Is it necessary to pay estimated tax on the dates April, June, Sep and Jan?

My plan is to have a good idea of what I owe in taxes in Dec when I take my RMD. At that point I would designate how much of my RMD should be sent in for taxes.

I got married this year and we intend to file as jointly married. We both are retired and have been paying estimated tax payments on our own. Do we both continue to pay estimated tax payments then just add them together when filing our joint return?
