Re: Vanguard and Turbo Tax

Vanguard might be wrong about TT being active. We still have the senate to vote on extending some taxes such as QCD qualified charity deductions. That's probably the reason I can't get any further into TT since they're waiting for the revisions they have to make before releasing it to the public.

Re: Vanguard and Turbo Tax

According to Vanguard TT is active. Both federal and state TT is free for flagship clients. I've had trouble in the past trying to take advantage of TT from Vanguard. I've yet to get it to work for me.

Vanguard and Turbo Tax

I sign in through Vanguard. I sign in with Turbo Tax and select Deluxe Turbo Tax which should be free to flagship clients only to be told it will cost me $29. If I select that will I be billed? Anyone else have trouble getting TT?

Re: Suspicious House Odor

Small animals can get in the ventilation pipe on the roof and make a wrong turn and end up in the toilet or die in the pipe. If you do find out it to be the problem cover the top of the pipe with some mesh that will allow the pipe to vent but keep the critters out. I've noticed in my shower a smell ...

You get the tasting bottles, you let the tasting room know your preferences, then you get 6 bottles or 12 bottles of wines that fit your preferences. The gift item is the tasting bottles to determine your likes. You contact the wine club and they will send 6 bottles that represent your taste. That's it for me as a gift. It will be up to the receiver if they want to continue or cancel. You can cancel at anytime.

Re: Ruud vs. A.O. Smith Electric Water Heater

This year I replaced an electric A.O. Smith water heater that was 19 years old and bought another A.O. Smith water heater. It wasn't giving us any trouble but I didn't do any maintenance on the unit. The sediment built up so much that when I had a new bathroom vanity and sink put it along with shut-...

I was single and tried to keep my non-cash charitable deductions at $500 or less. Above the $500 the IRS wants you to go through hoops. I got married this year and will file MFJ. Can I deduct $1000 for both of us before the IRS requires more info?

Re: RMD's Appendix C

If these statements are all separate --

Unmarried Owners
Married Owners Whose Spouses are not more than 10 years younger, and
Married Owners whose spouses are not the sole beneficiaries of their IRAs

Then, we would qualify for the 2nd statement since both of us are 70 years old

Right?
