Re: Tax question regarding sale of stocks

Zero records. I know its hard to fathom. I was really young and really stupid. Totally lost track of it and finally over time decided to look into because I wanted to sell. I was getting statements, but they were going to my moms house. She just threw them out.

mortgage theory

Sorry if this sounds stupid. I was mulling this over though and can't seem to get a straight answer. Lets say I take out a mortage(3o yrs) and have to pay 800 a month. 30 years later you are still paying the same 800. According to the inflation calculator 1981-2011 800=1900+. Wouldnt you much better...

Re: Another SS question..

I do not have the benefits in front me. I will when they come in though..(when do they??)...Also, i was wondering like if she was 62 could draw half his PIA and then when she reaches 65 take her full PIA amount. I am guessing her PIA is 1000 and his is 1300. Thanks.

VTI

What are the pros and cons of owning VTI verses SPY? Aren't they essentially the same thing. I have an extra 800 dollers and want to put it into my roth and then into a nice stock tracking index.
Thank You!
