Re: Roth or Traditional IRA
Hi Peter,
thank you for taking the time to help. Its greatly appreciated.
I Apologize for all these basic questions, because I am just starting to learn about investing and taxation.
My State taxable income last year was 98K , and Total taxable income was 78k (not sure which taxable income to consider for planning IRA).
I may remain in the 25% at least for the next 5 years and my wife is not planning to work in the foreseeable future.
Is a Spousal IRA for my wife and a Roth for myself the right way to go?

Roth or Traditional IRA
Hi Bogle Heads ,
I need guidance to decide whether I should open a IRA for myself and my wife
I am 40 Yrs old and employed , i make 110K + per year
My Wife is not working
I have 2 kids 10 and 5 yrs.
I have a 401K with my current employer and I have a rollover IRA from vanguard from a previous Employer
I thought IRA's is a good saving plan
1) Should I open 2 Roth IRA's for myself and my wife? Is it a good idea? I am concerned about taxation
2) For my wife which IRA (Roth or Traditional) has better tax benefit given my income etc ?
Any help appreciated.
