My BF is a Private Investigator and did some work for a friend of a friend, no charge. She sent him a very generous gift card to one of the nicest restaurants in the city, someplace we would probably never go to otherwise. You could Yelp a place in their city for ideas.

Thanks for the replies. If I replace anything now it will be the fridge because it makes weird noises now and again. My Company gives us a choice, thank goodness. Hated the woman's watch (hey, I'm 58- I need a watch face bigger than a dime)! I picked a Bose Wave radio.

My purse got stolen on a Friday night - after the banks closed. Talk about feeling helpless. After that I started keeping some cash around. It has also comes in handy when I've asked service people to do some last minute work and I have been able to pay them in cash,
