For those who have visited the tourist town of Bath, England, would it be worth a day trip from London? Thanks!

Re: General Partner vs. LLC

Dave,
What if they originally sued the GP business. Do you then have a case for a charging order or other form of seizure on LLC assets OR does the LLC provide enough protection where only the GP is at risk?
Thanks,
Chris

General Partner vs. LLC

Another general question for you all: If I am a General Partner (GP) in a family business with my spouse as a non-GP, and seperately we as a couple have a seperate LLC or LLP, can a creditor judgement against the GP be extended to apply to the assets of the LLC or LLP. In other words, could creditor...

Re: Exchanging USD to GBP

I have heard the exchange rate premium is lower when exchanging in the UK, that is why I am waiting. I have enough GBP spending cash for the first couple days. The rate charged at the ATM is excessive since my bank has no affiliates in the UK.

Exchanging USD to GBP

Once in London, can anyone recommend the most cost efficient way to exchange USD to GBP. I do not have a Capital One credit card nor will I get one before I leave. My AMEX charges 2.75% I have heard Post Offices there give good rates? What about a particular bank other than BofA?

Asset Protection case law

Any lawyers or wannabe lawyers who can recommend a website with recent (the last 20 years) case law on Asset Protection cases? In other words, cases that involve creditors/feds challenging an asset protection plan. Thank you again all.

Downloading movies to Ipad and Ipad mini

Any of you know a safe/reliable way to download movies to Ipad(s) on the cheap (i.e. <$3 per movie) to watch on an airplane that does not offer WiFi?

Re: Going to London

Thanks for the good stuff. Kate is unavailable unfortunately.

What about the 5 things you went to that were tourist traps and/or a waste of time?

Re: After Tax 401(k) contribution

I had heard that 51k number before so just wanted to confirm and Thank you.

A follow-up question, is that 51k limited to 401k. In other words, can I make a 5k non-deductible IRA contribution as well?

After Tax 401(k) contribution

Hello,
What is the total 401(k) contribution limit for 2013 including pre-tax, after-tax, and company match? In other words, how much can I legally put in my 401(k) this year?
Thanks!

Great Britain Pound exchange for trip

Anyone want to exchange their old pounds for USD? If so, let me know if you live anywhere near Central California. I will only exchange at or a little above the published rate. Thanks.

529 laws by state

Assuming I live in a state with weak Asset Protection for 529 plan, can I establish a 529 plan in a state such as Florida and receive that state's 529 protection even though I am a non-resident of Florida.

State annuity laws

Is it possible to go to another state and purchase an annuity and receive the annuity protection of that state assuming you are the resident of another state? For example, traveling to Florida to purchase the annuity and getting the Florida annuity "protection" for asset protection purposes.

Re: Seperating business and personal assets

Not sure why they picked a GP over an LLC. It's a family business so you never know what they were thinking decades ago. I know there is an effort by several of the partners to establish an LLC but the main partners are hesitant so far. In the mean time, I now need to "firewall" our person...

Seperating business and personal assets

My spouse has entered a general partnership with several other family members. I am aware a General Partnership is one of the worst mechanisms for seperating business and personal assets for liability/risk management purposes. What are your thoughts on how best to achieve this "seperation"...
